Christian Nationalism: The problem you may face.

The rapture did not happen on Tuesday September 23rd, 2025. This should come as no surprise. What some Christians believe is ludicrous, and can easily be dismissed as nonsense. The Christ has not returned and life will go on as usual. The fact that Jesus is not calling the faithful home, reaching out to the pious, or coming for anyone who is willing to fight in the final Armageddon , is of no consequence to non-believers. Many will be happy to accept that some Christians have strange beliefs.

Acceptance of people who’s faith takes them down a peculiar path, is what most of you do. Not everyone will worship or think in the same way. It is reasonable to accept the difference in others, but will they accept you? That is another matter. It isn’t Jesus coming for you, that you need to worry about. It is the followers of Christianity that present the problem. This is not to say all the followers of Christ are bad. Christian Nationalists who wish to force their will on all others, and codify their hate filled brand of faith into law, are a real and credible threat.

The recent Jimmy Kimmel debacle was not fueled solely by Christian Nationalists. This was more of Trump’s “lese-majeste” approach to the media. However, those in positions of power favor the establishment of Trump as a king-like figure, and favor a national Christian identity.

The biggest casualty of the installment of a Christian Nationalist government would be a revocation of first amendment rights for all citizens. Public school prayer would be mandatory, and the praying would be to the Christian god. Roe v Wade was overturned when more politically conservative

justices were appointed to the supreme court. There are Christian Nationalists who would like to repeal the right for women to vote. Women’s suffrage would not be the only item on the chopping block. Arcane laws effecting the rights of women, based on biblical conjecture would go into effect. Women could end up trapped in poverty, abusive marriages, and expected to be submissive to men. Abortion would be a criminal act with strict punishment. Trump’s “Big beautiful bill” cut spending for SNAP programs, WIC and other programs designed to help the poor. Many Christians have expressed opposition to this bill, but the effects of misogyny can be seen here. If women were not marginalized by a religious patriarchy, more conservatives would object to such a bill.

The red flag that is most alarming, is the relationship between White supremacy and the Christian right. This is nothing new, the KKK claimed it was a Christian organization back in the day. Today, the Christian Nationalists are fostering many of the same ideas. The notion of “cleansing” society is part of their covert plan. They foster a White national identity. A government that would instill purity tests, backed by an authoritarian patriarchal ideology. Control of the media and the dissemination of “they are out to get us” fear mongering. This will allow them to usher in a racial holy war against those who are deemed not acceptable.
